Designed for mobile journalists, YouTubers, and vloggers, the YELANGU MX5 is an ultracompact digital wireless microphone system great for shooting videos with clear audio for Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. It offers a complete, versatile, and simple-to-use solution for recording dialogue, interviews, and speech directly to a mirrorless/DSLR camera or a smartphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The MX5 consists of a single lightweight clip-on transmitter with its own built-in microphone along with a separate lavalier mic that can be used if you prefer a more discreet mic setup. In addition to the 3.5mm external microphone input, the transmitter is also equipped with a 3.5mm line input, allowing you to wirelessly transmit the signal from a recorder or mixer to your camera.
The compact receiver features a belt clip, which also doubles as a shoemount adapter for your camera. In the absence of a smartphone holder, the receiver can also be clamped to your smartphone using the belt clip. Both a 3.5mm TRS cable for camera use and a 3.5mm TRRS cable for smartphone use are included.
The system delivers reliable transmission with clear sound at a line-of-sight distance up to 164′. The built-in rechargeable batteries provide up to 5 hours of operation and recharge in 2 hours via USB.
Clip-On Transmitter with Built-In Mic and Lavalier Mic
- The compact transmitter is equipped with both a built-in microphone and a 3.5mm input that accepts the included lavalier microphone.
- The transmitter can be clipped on clothing without having to wire yourself or your talent, providing a fast, truly wireless setup. You can also hold the transmitter in your hand and use it as a handheld microphone.

Easy-to-Operate System
- Simply press the pairing buttons and the system components pair automatically.
- Dedicated gain buttons on the receiver allow you to adjust how loud the microphone is recorded on your camera.
- The transmitter and the receiver are powered for up to 5 hours via built-in, USB-rechargeable batteries.
- The batteries recharge in 2 hours; a USB charging cable is included.
Monitor in Real Time
- If your camera doesnt have a headphone jack, you can monitor your sound via the receivers 3.5mm headphone output while recording to ensure that you are capturing a clean signal.
2.4 GHz Digital Wireless
- To avoid interference from TV and radio waves, the MX5 digital system operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency bandfar away from television, radio, and UHF wireless microphone transmissions.
- The system automatically changes transmission frequency to mitigate noise and dropouts at a line-of-sight distance up to 164′.
- For optimal performance, environments with limited Wi-Fi/2.4 GHz traffic and minimal physical obstructions are recommended.

WORKS GREAT SO FAR

Purchased 15 of these MX5 for Multi-media field reporters to use with their mobile phones. After two weeks of use, in different hands, so far not a single complaint reported. All recorded voices sound great in every interview. No dropout experienced (average distance 10 to 15 feet in direct line sight, indoors. The Yelangu MX5 system works very well, especially at such an affordable price, it is a good system for such types of applications. CAREFUL WHEN BUYING: The kit does not come with a USB wall charger. It only comes with a single USB A to micro USB charging cable instead of the two you really need (1 for the transmitter & another for the receiver) Since each box takes about 3 hours to recharge, charging one at a time will take six hours if you only have a single charging cable. All this for about 3 hours of reliable use. So, order a dual-port USB 2.5 V wall charger and a spare USB to Micro USB cable to charge both units at the same time.
